"Laney" was named for the area in which she was born, Delaney Rim in the eastern Rockies near Rawlins, Wyoming. She came into our lives in November of 1999, when Gale and Jamie attended the Wild Horse Workshop that was being held up in Ashville, North Carolina.

Laney was one of the 80 horses gentled and halter trained during the workshop, although it did not take much to gentle this sweet little mare. Laney loves to be around people and has a very curious nature which often gets her into trouble.

She has matured into a very beautiful and wonderful riding horse. Laney has been shown extensively at FIHC and AIHR shows and is nearing her AIHR Hall of Fame Award. She has even represented the AA type Indian Horse during the Parade of Breeds at the Kentucky Horse Park. Now ten years later it's hard to believe that this elegant mare was the same sickly little weanling with the ring worm around her eye.
