Cherokee's Spirit Farm

Colonial Spanish & American Indian Horses

About Cherokee's Spirit Farm

Cherokee’s Spirit Farm has been a long time dream for our family. After acquiring our first horse back in 1994, we dreamed of the day that we would be living out in the country with our own little herd.

That day came a lot sooner than expected. In 1998 our house was destroyed in the flood that ravaged South & Central Texas. Shortly after that, Jim was offered a job in the upstate of South Carolina. While we would have to leave an area, which we dearly loved, we finally had the opportunity to purchase our farm.

Unfortunately shortly before our move, we lost our beloved first horse Cherokee. It seemed only fitting that we name our new farm in her memory.

Cherokee introduced us to the wonderful world of American Indian Horses. Today we work to help preserve the unique and rare Original Indian Horse also know as the Colonial Spanish Horse or Spanish Mustang. These historic horses number less than 3,600 world-wide.

In addition to the Colonial Spanish Horses our farm is also home to some wonderful Foundation bred Quarter Horses, two magnificent Old-type Morgan Horses along with two beautiful BLM mustang mares.

We are dedicated to producing top quality performance & family horses. We want the horses we breed and raise to be great ambassadors for their respective breed.

Please take a few moments to look around our website and learn more about our horses. If you are in the area, give us a call to arrange a visit in person!
